Appwrite tools for Codex. This plugin packages Appwrite SDK skills, Appwrite deployment workflow skills, and the hosted Appwrite MCP server.
- Run
codex, then run/plugins. - Switch to the OpenAI Curated marketplace.
- Search for Appwrite and install the plugin.
- Sign in to Appwrite and approve access when prompted, then start a new Codex session.
The plugin can also be installed from Plugins in the ChatGPT desktop app.
Add this repository as a marketplace and install the plugin from it:
codex plugin marketplace add appwrite/codex-plugin
codex plugin add appwrite@appwriteStart a new Codex session to load the bundled skills.
To use the skills and the MCP server without the plugin, copy the skills into your user skills folder and register the server.
macOS / Linux:
mkdir -p ~/.agents/skills
cp -R plugins/appwrite/skills/* ~/.agents/skills/
codex mcp add appwrite --url https://mcp.appwrite.io/Windows (PowerShell):
New-Item -ItemType Directory -Force -Path "$HOME\.agents\skills" | Out-Null
Copy-Item -Recurse plugins\appwrite\skills\* "$HOME\.agents\skills\"
codex mcp add appwrite --url https://mcp.appwrite.io/Instead of codex mcp add, you can merge plugins/appwrite/config.toml into ~/.codex/config.toml.
The plugin ships these skills under plugins/appwrite/skills/:
appwrite-typescriptappwrite-dartappwrite-kotlinappwrite-swiftappwrite-phpappwrite-pythonappwrite-rubyappwrite-goappwrite-rustappwrite-dotnetappwrite-clideploy-sitedeploy-function
The language skills give Codex language-specific Appwrite context for authentication, database queries, storage, realtime, functions, and server-side administration. The deploy-site and deploy-function skills walk through deploying Appwrite Sites and Functions with the Appwrite CLI.
Codex loads a skill when a task matches its description. To invoke one explicitly, type $ or run /skills and pick it.
The plugin registers one appwrite server at https://mcp.appwrite.io/. It provides tools for working with your Appwrite organizations and projects, and for searching the latest Appwrite documentation.
The hosted server uses browser-based OAuth, so no API key, project ID, endpoint, or other manually configured secret is required. Codex asks you to sign in when you install the plugin. To sign in again, or after a manual setup, run:
codex mcp login appwriteThen try:
Use Appwrite to show my workspace context and list my projects.
If the browser does not open, use the authorization URL printed by Codex. Run codex mcp logout appwrite followed by codex mcp login appwrite to refresh the OAuth session, and codex mcp list to check that the server is configured.
